What a dog says about a man

Seeing a certain dog with a man can make you think certain things about him. Some people say a man with a big dog is more manly than a man with a small dog. Other people say a man with a small dog is likely to be homosexual.
What do you see when a man has a certain type of dog?

Adopt Muffy a bichon frise poodle mix (NJ)

MUFFY
bichon frise poodle mix
Hamilton, NJ
Muffy was found as a stray on the streets with heart pneumonia and congestive heart failure. The shelter she was at was going to euthanize her because of her illness. But luckily, the Pet Rescue of Mercer saved her. She is around 8 or 9 years old and loves everyone. Even dogs, cats and children! She is very well behaved and has a calm personality. Muffy’s heart disease is under control now and takes medicine for it daily. If you have a place in your heart for this special girl, let her in.

Oliver’s mud mittens

A new dog fashion is out and its called mud mittens. As you can see Oliver is a supporter of it. He went romping in the backyard last night after it rained all day. When he went out he was white. When he came back he was brown. I thought somebody took Oliver and replaced him with a different dog.
I personally thought it was cute and funny. Mom thought so too but she was not going to let this little dirty dog in her bed. So, i was forced to wash him up or listen to him cry all night wanting to sleep with mom. I was planning on washing him this weekend but I guess he wanted to get washed sooner. Now he is back to looking like the handsome boy he is. Plus, he smells good!
Do your dogs wear mud mittens too?

How to deal with a flea infestation (infographic)

Fleas are something no dog owner wants to come across. That’s why most dog owners use frontline. But, even at times fleas can sneak onto your dog. It only takes 1 or 2 fleas for a whole group of them to take over your dogs body. The smart thing to do if you find one is to take action right away.
My pack of dogs all got fleas before and let me tell you it was hell. They got the fleas from my cats because they were feral at the time. So, when my dogs met my new cats the fleas spread. Oh my gosh, let me tell you it was bad. They would itch and chew at themselves all day long. This went on for months until we killed every last one of the pesky fleas.
There is a lot of different flea shampoos, sprays and medicine that is out there. I recommend you do your research before getting any flea products. You want to make sure it is safe and it actually is going to work. The best choice is to ask your vet.

Introducing my pack

I can talk all day about my dogs. There is so much to say about them but I won’t make this post too long. Don’t want to torture you, at least not yet.  There is plenty of time for that. So, let’s get started with my special girl…
Princess

This pretty girl is an angel. I guarantee this is one of God’s angels.  She is a bichon frise, cocker spaniel mix. She weighs around 24 pounds of muscle. Princess is alpha of the pack and she really lives up to her name. She does no wrong and knows how to get the most love out of you.

We found her on Petfinder in 2004. Her big round eyes caught our attention and knew we had to have her. When we went to see her she just focused on her foster mom most of the time. My mother was worried she wouldn’t like us but I was determined to bring her home with us. Once she became part of our family she became one of the loyalist dogs out there. Now Princess doesn’t take her eyes off of me.

Princess is my best friend and my sidekick. If I could I would take her everywhere. She loves to go on long walks, go for car rides and be petted. In the summer time she sleeps under my bed and in the winter she sleeps on top of my bed. She is a true Princess and she knows it!
Lady

She is the beauty of the family. Lovely eyes and a wonderful coat she has. Lady is a golden retriever, miniature poodle mix and she weighs around 35 pounds. She lives for food and a being pet. She is a gentle girl with a sweet heart.

Lady was also found on Petfinder. She was a true rescue. We got her from the Newark Humane Society and it was no easy task. When we got there they tried to convince us to leave her and get another dog. Claming she was a “biter”. My mother wasn’t buying that though. She went back there and made them bring her outside. Lady and Princess liked each other. She seemed to like me and my mom. You could see the fear in her. Her tail was down and she was pulling away from the guy holding on the leash. It was all fear.  She wasn’t a biter, she was just a scared dog in a place with scary noises and people. Let me tell you, the greatest moment I will never forget was when she got into the car. Her whole demeanor changed. She went from scared and shaken, to a smiling happy dog that knew her future was a good one. From that moment on she has been living life like a Lady.

Lady loves all food from steak to carrots. She will eat it! She eats, sleeps and lives for food. Another thing about Lady is she is a great sneak. She can steal something and sneak out of the room without you knowing. She will hold it from the very tip and walk out of the room. You can always here us yelling Lady!!! Though she has such a sweet face that it could make you cry.
Oliver

He is the baby boy of the family. Mommies boy! Yup, my mom is nuts about this dog and he is nuts about her. That’s why he gets away with murder! Wait, he gets away with murder because he has the cutest face! Oliver is a poodle mix which we think may be mixed with some jack Russell terrier. He weighs around 18 pounds of cuteness.

Yup, you guessed it. Another Petfinder find! He came from the same rescue as Princess did. His rescue name was Johnny Depp but I always wanted a dog named Oliver. The name fits him well. Let me tell you the first time I saw him, all I could say was Aww! He was and still is so cute!

Oliver is a very spunky and smart dog. He learns tricks fast and if he had better focus skills he would learn a lot more. He can always put a smile on my face with his happy personality. Oliver loves walks, food, snuggles and playing. He is the man of the pack and the house.
Thats my pack. They make the perfect pack for me. Lots of love and laughs.

Alittle about me

Let me first start off with thanking you all for stopping by my new created blog. It’s not much yet but it is slowly getting there. Step by step it is going to be growing into a magnificent dog blog.  Make sure to keep rolling back here to see what I add every day.

Anyways, lets get on with the introduction…
Hello everyone, my name is Anna and I have been a huge dog lover from the moment I could remember. Probably, from the moment I was born but I can’t recall that far back. I can remember though I have never been scared of dogs. Big or small, I love them all! (a poet in training)
I don’t remember when I started showing my passion for dogs (in the womb?) but I bet it was in the orphanage that I was in Russia.   I don’t even remember the orphanage! Yeah, I was a homeless child in Russia until my wonderful mother adopted me when I was three. She brought me to the greatest country in the world, USA! I know once I came here I really showed how much I loved dogs. I mean I probably saw them ten times more here than Russia.
I remember the times when I was a child, I would act like a dog. I would crawl on my hands and knees and bark (woof woof). Maybe I was raised by a pack of wild dogs in Russia? I doubt it but I always enjoyed acting like a dog. But once I got older I involved into a human and started owning dogs instead of being one. Which I say is a much better purpose for me.
So far I had a total of four dogs in my life. Three are still with me and one is at the Rainbow Bridge. I will always have dogs part of my life. Honestly, I can’t live without them. Some people think I am crazy how much I love them. They are like my children. They are family! Who can relate?
Anyhow, that’s a short introduction about me but you will probably learn a lot more in my future writing. Keep hitting the refresh button to see what goodies I add here for you and your dogs!
